Ritze Wants Bass-LeSure Removed

Bass-LeSure says she's innocent.

Rep. Mike Ritze said today he plans to seek the removal of District Judge Tammy Bass-LeSure from the Oklahoma County bench. 

Bass-LeSure and her husband Karlos have been charged with more than 30 counts of perjury and fraud in relation to their role as foster parents to a set of twins.

Prosecutors allege Bass-LeSure and her husband accepted state money for the care of the twins but relegated that care to her bailiff’s sister.

“I plan to file legislation for the removal of Judge Bass-Lesure and request that the Council of Judicial Complaints investigate and remove this judge,” Ritze, R-Broken Arrow, said. “Based on the information publicly available, I believe she could easily be charged with child trafficking, which is defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring, or receiving of children for the purpose of exploitation.”
