Barresi Moves To Take Charge; Employees Nervous

By Megan Rolland/The Oklahoman ~  The incoming state schools superintendent has asked all 360 Education Department employees who wish to “continue employment” to submit their resumes, job descriptions and visions for the future.

Janet Barresi, who takes the oath of office Jan. 10, said she is not asking employees to reapply for their jobs. “That was the farthest thing from my intent,” Barresi said. “I'm kind of like a CEO coming into a corporation. I'm going to want to gather information about employees, their past success, their duties.”

This is the first time in 20 years the Education Department has faced new leadership.
