Luck Of The Draw: Lankford's Office Selection

Congressman-elect James Lankford was 72nd out of 85 new U. S. House members in a lottery today to pick an office.

He wound up, Chief of Staff Randy Swanson said, picking an office on the 5th floor of the Cannon House Office Building. That's not a prized location for an office, but Lankford told supporters earlier he's honored to have any office.

In a late afternoon update on Facebook, Lankford wrote, "Congressional District 5 office will be in Cannon Office 509, come see us after Jan 5 in DC. NBC followed us around all day today, I heard they have some clips on the news tonight."

The Oklahoma City NBC affiliate, KFOR-TV, aired a portion of the NBC video in its 5 p.m. newscast.
