Lamb Resigns Senate Seat Effective January 10th

Lt. Governor-elect Todd Lamb announced today his resignation from the Senate in District 47, effective upon his swearing-in on January 10th.

Lamb submitted to Secretary of State Susan Savage an irrevocable letter of resignation from the office of State Senate District 47.

Lamb said his resignation would not become effective immediately, but rather when he takes his oath of office on January 10, 2011.

“Serving District 47 has been a real privilege,” said Lamb. “My decision to resign will allow the Governor to proceed in calling a special election soon, so the citizens of District 47 will continue to be effectively represented. I am honored to have received the overwhelming support from Oklahomans across the state to serve as their next Lt. Governor and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of our great state.”
