Lankford Nears Million-Dollar Mark As Money Flows
Republican congressional candidate James Lankford, a political newcomer given little chance of victory a few short months ago, is nearing the million-dollar mark in donations to his thus-far successful campaign.
Lankford, the former director of a church-sponsored youth camp, has raised $955,528, his new report to the Federal Election Commission shows. It was filed overnight.
The report also shows Lankford has spent $862,312 and has $92,000 in cash on hand.
For the reporting period, Lankford raised $484,382, including a substantial sum from two Oklahoma City fundraisers on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The report for Lankford's opponent, Billy Coyle, is not yet on file with the FEC.
