Vietnam Vets Get Overdue 'Welcome Home'

From The Tulsa World ~ Hundreds of Vietnam veterans in Oklahoma are getting a long-overdue welcome back that includes a festival and concert hosted Friday evening by Operation Oklahoma on the University of Tulsa campus.

Operation Oklahoma, organized by the Oklahoma National Guard, is a yearlong salute to Vietnam veterans in an effort to recognize their contribution and to make up for the poor reception they had when they came back from an unpopular war, said retired Oklahoma National Guard Brig. Gen. Thomas Mancino.
