Thompson, Lankford Lead In 5th District Dollars

The top candidates for the Republican nomination for Congress in the 5th District raised almost $560,000 in the past three months, their Federal Election Commission reports show.

Rep. Mike Thompson of Oklahoma City raised the most, taking in $189,641.

Political newcomer James Lankford of Edmond continued his impressive underdog campaign, raising $142,407.

Front-runner Kevin Calvey of Oklahoma City came in third, raising $116,242.

Rep. Shane Jett of Tecumseh, a late entrant in the race, raised $110,099.

Democrat Billy Coyle raised an impressive $106,104 for his race against Tom Guild, whose report is not yet available online.
