Burrage Dominates Auditor Race Fundraising

Incumbent Auditor & Inspector Steve Burrage thus far has dominated fundraising in the race for the post, far outpacing Republicans Gary Jones and David Hanigar.

Ethics Commission reports show Burrage raised $15,525 in the second quarter, bringing his total to $193,543. He spent about $15,000 and a total of $65,473. He has $127,876 in cash on hand.

Jones, who resigned as Republican State Party chairman to make his third bid for the post, raised $18,608 and spent $3,500. He has $11,005 in cash on hand.

Hanigar raised $4,500, his overall total as well, and spent $3,273. He has less than a thousand dollars on hand.
