Henry's Office: Troy's Claim 'Absolute fiction'

UPDATE: Senator Glenn Coffee said today that a claim by former Democratic Party Chairman Ivan Holmes that Coffee called him last Thursday night is not true. Read that story by going to http://wwwtmrcom.blogspot.com.
"Absolute fiction" is the description today from Governor Henry's office of a purported claim by Frosty Troy (pictured) that the governor intervened with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission to stop a probe of Republican Senate leader Glenn Coffee.
Troy, longtime editor of The Oklahoma Observer and frequent speaker at Democratic events, is quoted today on the Democratic forum site, www.demookie.com, as having told an audience of the alleged event.
The DemoOkie post came from longtime party activist "Wanda Jo," who wrote, "Another problem. According to a complaint filed with the Oklahoma Ethics Commission, Coffee has reimbursed himself for well over $100,000 from his campaign funds for travel, meals and lodging with no proof whatever to substantiate that claim. Frosty Troy, in speaking to the South OKC Democratic women last night, said that Governor Henry called Marilyn Hughes at the Ethics Commission and asked that she put the Coffee complaint on the shelf because he (the Governor) had to work with Coffee. It appears that the governor is as sorry as Coffee."
"Absolute fiction," a Henry spokesman told The McCarville Report Online.
