OERB Has Cleaned Up 8,000 Well Sites

The Oklahoma Energy Resources Board (OERB) soon will begin cleaning up the 8,000th well site in the state since it began the work 13 years ago. OERB Executive Director Mindy Stitt told The Oklahoman the OERB now cleans up about 900 sites per year. The OERB budget is $7.75 million per year, which comes from a voluntary assessment of one-tenth of 1 percent of the sale of oil or natural gas.
