Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor, Take Note...
By Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice President, NRA ~ The New York Times won't be covering this story, but yet another big-city mayor has left New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg's anti-gun group. Jared Fuhriman, the mayor of Idaho Falls, has walked away from the coalition of mayors. He told a local newspaper that he was originally told that Bloomberg's coalition was only going after "illegal guns." But after doing his own research he said, "I could see there was a conflict with the NRA and with some of the beliefs we have here in Idaho." Bloomberg won't be sending out any press releases, of course, but it's important to point out when mayors dump Bloomberg's anti-gun group because they've been told the same lie Bloomberg's telling the public. This isn't about going after criminals with guns. This is about criminalizing gun ownership. Mayor Fuhriman, a former police officer, did the right thing after his constituents helped him see the truth about Bloomberg's group. If your mayor's a part of this same group, you should help them see the light as well. Let your mayor know what's really going on with Bloomberg, and ask why they want to be a part of this anti-gun agenda. I'm proud of Mayor Fuhriman, and the folks in Idaho Falls should be proud of him as well. Thanks for doing the right thing, Mr. Mayor. Note: The only Oklahoma mayor to join Bloomberg's group is Kathy Taylor of Tulsa.
