'Republican Rejecters' Cited In November Elections

The last midterm election that brought upheavals in Congress was in 1994, when Republicans ousted Democrats from control of the House and Senate courtesy of a voter pundits dubbed “the angry white man.” This time, election foment was driven by independents and moderates who had supported Republicans, particularly in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks, but now turned against the GOP.
